Died in 2010

John Delahoy, who ran John’s Barber Shop in West Parade, Lincoln, died on his 66th birthday following complications during a routine operation.

Since the granddad of five’s death, his heartbroken family say they have been flooded with messages of love from people who knew him.

John had cut hair in the city for more than five decades, and was well known for his love of golf and his favourite football team, Manchester United.

On 25 February, 2010, he was in surgery for gallstones when he suffered heart failure and died.

Looking at a holiday snap from the couple’s yearly break in Icmeler, Turkey, devastated wife Maureen said his laughing eyes will be something she will always remember.

“He has been taken to soon, I have lost my soul mate,” said Mrs Delahoy who was married to John for 44 years.

“He was such a devoted and much loved husband. I will always have treasured memories and he will have all my love, always.”
